Doctors this morning, not my usual one. And a textbook example of absolutely not giving a shit and just getting you off the list.

You've had all the tests done she says. Ignores the fact I am telling her I am ill every 24 hours.

You might find changing a diet to a simpler one helps. Literally after me telling her I've done a bunch of elimination diets and all sorts of tests. Stay away from fat she says ! As I just said. I've done low fat, high fat. The fat seems to make no odds.

It could be the divertculitis she says. Yeah. But no. I saw where that was - lower intestine - they showed me that at Harley street. Not where I get the pain.

The only thing she did was change the 30mg of stomach meds to 2 x 15mg of meds. So I could alter the dose as I felt like.

That's it.

Ignored the fact I was struggling to do two days work a week. Losing chunks of every day.

Yada blah blah.

Excellent. Basically. She didn't listen to anything I said. Saw I had a bunch of tests. Saw I had been in hospital and said it was likely to be because you've been in hospital.

Right. Despite this problem predating the hospital.

Did you have antibiotics afterwards ?

No.

I understand antibiotics can wipe out gut flora. I haven't had any in literally years.

Didn't want to know. Didn't want to listen. It was probably the hospital visit and the antibiotics I didn't actually have.

The literal textbook example of just ticking things off a fucking list, next please.

I get it, the job is not easy, lots of patients, blurg, just get through the day. But. The result of that bullshit approach is.. you're not really doing a good job. In the worst case you're not doing a job at all. Just. Punching tickets. Appointment booking service. Nothing done. Vacuous.

So once again left in the limbo land of. If you actually want anything done, you need to go private. Or. See if you can figure shit out yourself. Which was where I was last year. Same old.

It would seem the GP service you get by default is shit. There can be good experiences in there. But its not the norm.

Eh well. In the end. I am just one of countless peasants. Easy come. Easy go. If one burns out, another will be there to replace them. Healthcare accordingly.

It really reinforces that whole, only patched up if you are literally dying, otherwise, 90% of the time, flat out ignored. With a dose of ironic high horse berating for not getting checked out earlier or yada blah.

Meh.

So. Familiar place. You're not going to get any help Johnny. Solve it yourself. Or not at all.

Fucking GPs.

UPDATE

Unusually, the GP surgery sent me a text asking for feedback on my recent appointment.

Oh dear.

Well. They asked for it. My comment was :

Listen to me. Don't waste both our times offering advice that I've already tried. If you can't be bothered, be honest so I can plan accordingly.

Fairly short text limit. But, that'll do. Not mean. Just honest. You're not doing your job. There's the review. I wont particularly hold it against you if you put your hands up and say, yeah, no, can't be arsed with you. I mean. It calls into question *why* you're there and your funding, but I'd rather you did that than pretend otherwise. Really. Don't waste both our times.
